Where do old bloggers go?

I find myself wondering what happened to bloggers I used to read who disappeared.  One woman seemed on the edge of collapse, divorce or who knows what. Has she flipped out?  Another wrote a fascinating story of her great musical  gift that ruined her childhood.  Her blog now says you can read it by invitation only and I have no clue about how to get invited.  Most recently, I wrote a comment to a beautifully written blog before I noticed that the last entry was in 2005.  Where is she?  Does she ever go back and read what she wrote back there? There is some stuff I wrote at least that long ago that languishes on old blog sites, too.  Old bloggers never die, they just fade away.
